About Solutions 4 Lyfe
WHO WE ARE
Solutions for You, Solutions for Life
A Social Change Incubator
Solutions 4 Lyfe
Solutions 4 Lyfe (S4L) is a social change incubator focused on turning ideas into solutions that make life better. We develop new ideas, initiatives, and ventures designed to address the challenges facing our communities and create meaningful, lasting change.
The 4 in S4L represents the four parts of society we believe can help create that change: government, industry, academia, and communities. We work across these spheres to develop solutions that are grounded in real experiences, informed by evidence, and capable of creating lasting impact.
And Lyfe is intentional. We believe we need to put the “why” back in life—to ask not only how we can make things work better, but why we are doing it in the first place and what kind of society we want to build.
Our work begins with ideas. We explore problems, develop solutions, and create new initiatives that can grow into something bigger. CMC is one example: a place built to bring the people and organizations working for change together around the table.
At S4L, we believe social change doesn’t just happen. It starts with a why, becomes an idea, and is built into something real.
Change happens when the right people find each other
We believe lasting social change starts with better ideas and grows when the right people come together to bring them to life.
Our Allies
Supporters and collaborators who contribute resources, expertise, and
networks to advance our mission.
These stakeholders are strategically aligned through the Board of Directors and their
respective divisions. Operationally, they engage with S4L staff and founding partners in collaborative efforts such as meetings, projects, collaborations, and events, ensuring
synergy and collective impact.
Change Makers Club of Canada
The Change Makers Club of Canada (CMC) is a membership club and third space for the people we call “avenger-types” — the people who see something that needs to change and decide to do something about it. CMC brings these people and organizations into the same room to build relationships, exchange ideas, and discover what they can accomplish together. We believe meaningful change rarely happens alone. It happens when the right people find each other, build trust, and form coalitions strong enough to move ideas into action. CMC is building the home for that coalition.
The CMC Experience
CMC is a place for people who want to do something about the issues they care about. Members get opportunities to step into rooms with people they might not otherwise meet, exchange ideas, and find collaborators who can help take those ideas further.
Over our first year, CMC has brought mayors and municipal councillors together for a municipal round table series, created spaces for conversations on Black Canadian experiences, hosted intimate socials, and facilitated community co-creation sessions with young people and local leaders. These experiences showed us the value of simply putting the right people around the same table.
As a member, you aren’t signing up for a calendar of events or a list of obligations. You’re joining a club whose value grows with the people inside it. Come to a conversation, meet someone new, join a project, bring an idea to the table, or simply have a drink with people who are trying to make something happen. The more people who join, the bigger the table, and the more we can do together.
Memberships
There are different ways to belong to CMC, depending on what you want to bring to the club. Some members contribute their time, others contribute membership dues, and our Governors take an active role in shaping the institution itself.
Memberships for Individuals
-Volunteer: For students, young activists, and others who want to contribute their time. Volunteers contribute at least 10 hours annually to help keep the club moving.
-Ally ($199/year): Our core individual membership for people who want to be part of the club. Allies have access to CMC’s clubhouse spaces, member gatherings, collaborative opportunities, and the wider coalition of people and organizations working toward social change.
Memberships for Groups/Orgs
- -Partner ($1,000/year): Bring your organization or group into the club. A Partner membership makes all employees of the organization CMC members, giving your team access to the club’s spaces, conversations, people, and opportunities to collaborate with other members.
-Governor ($25,000/year): For organizations prepared to take an active role in building CMC. Governors help shape the club’s rules, priorities, and future through the Board of Governors while helping provide the financial foundation that keeps the institution growing. As an added benefit, all employees and clients of our Governor members also enjoy full membership benefits.
